But Genesect didn't have the Cannon before Team Plasma modified it, why does it's ancestor have it?

The Pokedex is unreliable and self-contradictory. In Pokemon White version the Pokedex says "They upgraded the cannon on its back." implying it already had a cannon. The Black/White 2 entries contradict it, but I think the cannon already being present is more interesting so I went with the White version entry.

Okay, you're right. I played Black and White 2, so I only knew this version xD

The other thing is, Kabutops and Armaldo are long extinct, 300 Million years ago in case of Kabutops, shouldn't they be on an erlier point in your genealogy?

The tree doesn't show how ancient they are. It just shows closest relations.

How can Kabutops be on the same level of evolution as the other pokemon when they're already extinct? Shouldn't it be an ancestor rather than a descendant?

Not necessarily. Just because a species is extinct doesn't mean it's the ancestor of its modern relatives. The Pokemon at the bottom of the tree didn't necessarily evolve at the same time.

Ah, I see what you mean. Do carry on then, these sprites are all top notch, and thought provoking even. :)

You could've added Scyther beside Kabutop down the bottom, showing how they got the scythes. Just my opinion though. :)

Yeah, I wish they could have somehow fitted near each other. But one is a trilobite and one is an insect. Just not close enough to squeeze them together. We have done Scyther's ancestor though, and it looks pretty sweet. It's related to Leavanny.

Well, if you look at Genesect, iy's clearly a bug and almost directly derived from Kabutops. And I've seen your take on Scyther's ancestors. Manther sounds like a badass name. :D

I think the brown genesect Kabutops thing should have more of genesect's eyes. (Also I am not sure if this has been covered, but what about gen VI? :/ )

We'll be doing the gen 6 Pokemon sometime after the games are released. It will be a pain... Sorry for the really really late reply.

gen VI hasn't been fully revealed, what do you want him to do? predict the future?

What does the blue line mean?

It's just there because the line is going up vertically and I wanted to draw attention to the fact Brown Kabutops is Blue Kabutops' ancestor, not its cousin.
